Our Empowerment Circles emphasize the power of community in the healing process and are at the center of our therapy practice. For years, barber shops and beauty salons within the African American community served as a gathering place where people from all walks of life and backgrounds come together to discuss sports, politics, and current events. In keeping with this tradition, our Empowerment Circles provide a safe, supportive, and confidential setting where African American males can openly share their experiences while having the support and guidance of experienced, African American mental health professionals.
Our Empowerment Circles involve weekly 60-minute group sessions for a span of eight weeks and are exclusively in person. The cost of these 8-week sessions is $800.00 and is not covered by insurance.
Does the Apple Fall Far From the Tree? – Explores various aspects of fatherhood from the black male perspective. We dig deep into how growing up with your biological father being present or not present (either physically or emotionally) shapes the types of fathers, partners, husbands, and co-parents we have become today or hope to be in the future. We also explore different perspectives of fatherhood from approaches to child-rearing, the relationship with the mother of your child(ren), and more.
